This painting was inspired by the NASA New Horizons Mission Pluto Flyby. Never seen before hi-resolution photos revealed glacial ice on Pluto’s surface. Seeing these images compelled me to reinterpret them in wax using an air trapping textural technique I developed that depicts geologic terrain.
