This piece combines an ancient painting method with an ancient alphabet referencing and eliciting a lost and mysterious culture of the past and, created at the onset of Covid.

This piece began as a large collagraph print on Japanese Kozo paper. The imagery echos a grid of Germanic Runes and astrological symbols under layers of wax and oil paint with the periodic table as its construct. Rune alphabets were the first systems of writing developed and used by the Norse and other Germanic peoples.
